Held at the beautiful Rosehill Racecourse in late September as part of the Sydney Spring Racing Carnival, the Premiere Stakes is a Group 2 race for thoroughbred sprinters.

Conducted over 1,200m under weight-for-age conditions, the Premiere Stakes is one of five Group status races held at the meeting.
The other features on the day worth a punt on are the Group 2 Tea Rose Stakes (1500m), Group 2 Shannon Stakes (1500m), Group 2 Hill Stakes (1900m) and the Group 3 Gloaming Stakes (1800m), giving punters plenty of variety and excitement!
The Premiere Stakes is worth $175,000 in prizemoney and can attract a similar field of runners to earlier weight-for-age races including the Group 3 Missile Stakes (1100m) at Randwick in early August and the Group 2 Warwick Stakes (1400m) at Warwick Farm.
Usually contested by handy local gallopers, some of the best Premiere Stakes runners may continue their spring campaigns targeting the Group 1 George Main Stakes (1600m) at Randwick the following week.
