2010 Premiere Stakes Won by Star Mare Hot Danish

September 20th, 2010

Star Sydney mare Hot Danish enjoyed a sensational return to racing on Saturday, the seven-year-old coasting to a classy win in the $175,000 Group 2 Premiere Stakes (1200m) at Rosehill.

The Les Bridge-trained champion Hot Danish, a dual Group 1 winner after a hugely successful Brisbane winter campaign, was backed into the $1.35 favourite in the 2010 Premiere Stakes betting.

With ease, the daughter of Nothin’ Leica Dane took to the front and scored a breathtaking win over Trader ($16) and long-priced outsider Cardinal Virtue ($51) to push her career earnings to over the $2 million mark.

Hot Danish will next target the Group 2 The Shorts (1200m) on October 2 at Randwick before heading to Melbourne for the major spring features.
